Hi Families, This is a reminder we send weekly progress reports home every Monday night to be reviewed and signed by you and returned on Tuesdays. Also, Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held for all campuses at Aspire on March 6th from 5-7 pm and March 7th from 2-5 pm. This is a great time to ask any questions, address issues, and be more deeply informed about how your student is progressing in school. This coming Monday you should receive a conference letter attached to your student’s paycheck. We have checked the option we feel is in the best interest of your student. Please indicate whether you are able to attend, sign, and send back with your student. We look forward seeing to you!

YASD is operating on a regular schedule today- no delays and no cancellations. However, since we serve the entire Tri-City area, we understand that road conditions vary significantly based on where each family resides. If you feel your student needs more time to get to school safely based on your location, please send an email to khobson@yavapaicountyhs.org or call 928 759 8126.

All YASD schools will be closed today, February 7, 2024 due to various weather conditions in our area. Since we serve the entire Tri-City area, we understand that road conditions vary significantly based on where each family resides. Because most Prescott and Prescott Valley area schools have canceled, YASD will also cancel today, February 7, 2024. Please stay safe.

Greeting YASD families! Several students have already missed 3 or 4 school days since returning from break. This means they have already missed half or more of the days we have been in school this semester. Please be reminded that students are only allowed 10 absences before they risk losing all credit for the semester - even if the class has already been completed. We will be focusing on increased attendance rates significantly this semester so please do not regret your decisions to not come to school! Dr. Burns

Greetings YASD families! This is a reminder that there is no school tomorrow, Monday, January 15th, in honor and celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Please see the announcement sent last Thursday to learn about how our students can participate in this National Day of Service. We will see you on Tuesday!

YASD families, In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service on 1/15/24, we are encouraging each student to take part in serving their community by volunteering for a minimum of 4 hours. Volunteering promotes stronger communities by performing selfless acts of service for others. Volunteer services can be completed for adult family members, organizations, and neighbors. If students complete 4 hours of volunteer work, they should get the attached log sheet signed and provide a photo with the person they performed service for. Upon turning in the log sheet and photo, students will be invited to a school celebration. All photos should be sent to khobson@yavapaicountyhs.org.

MLK National Day of Service
Greeting YASD families. Roads around our area are currently and very quickly became very slippery. Please take extra time to arrive to school safely. We would prefer you were late and safe than rushing and unsafe. Thank you!

Dear YCHS students and families - Due to increased classroom behavior challenges, YCHS has experienced a significant change in the seating chart that will begin tomorrow. The classroom is arranged completely differently and we wanted to give you a heads up of these changes. Students at YCHS should expect to be given direction of their assigned seat upon arrival. These assignments will not change until staff determines the need and/or student behaviors improve. Thank you!

Greetings YASD families. This is a reminder that students who are chronically late or absent may be face receiving no credit or resetting of their classes, even if those classes have been completed before the absence violations occurred. Students missing 10 or more days without providing formal absence excuses (such doctor's notes), will be placed on academic probation and may not receive credit for classes. Please note that excessive tardies and early check outs also contribute to absences and will count against the student's allowable days. Because student school days are already only 5 hours per day, good attendance is crucial to their success. Thank you for your cooperation.

Last semester proved very difficult for dress code violations. As a result, students who are found in violation of dress code will either be given school-issued clothing or be sent home. According to our handbook: This includes advertising, promotion or pictures of alcoholic beverages, tobacco, drugs or illegal substances, sexual or violent behavior, or any other illegal items and revealing “tops” due to length, texture, straps or lack of coverage are not allowed. This includes halter, cropped, or short tops (bare midriff), tops off the shoulders, strapless tops, netting, spandex, and tops that are open on the sides and back. Thank you for your cooperation. See handbook for more details.
